Drew Brees becomes newest Saint for small business

New Orleans, Louisiana — New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees has a new, bold move: He plans to run on Dunkin.’

The NFL player will team up with Dunkin’ Donuts to open 69 new stores in Louisiana – a move that he said will create jobs and boost Louisiana’s economy.

It’s a great product service and an incredible brand to be able to bring down here to the state of Louisiana,

he said.  “It continues to build the economy here, create jobs through small business – which is the lifeblood of our community.”

This isn’t Brees’ first venture off of the gridiron. He also has business partnerships with Jimmy John’s, Title Boxing Club and Walk-On’s Enterprises.

“Football is my job, that’s what I do… I feel like it gets me a great platform… But I do love franchising,” he said. “You’re taking an existing business, a very successful business and then you’re integrating that into the communities in which you live.”

The star quarterback said he thought the incoming Trump administration would create a better operating climate for small businesses.

“We all hope,” he said, “that an environment is going to be created that continues to spur business, that helps small businesses like our franchise continue to operate at a high level, to be able to employ a lot of people, to create jobs and opportunities and build our local economies.”
