Niceville, Florida —

Whether you’re looking for a job, a doughnut or a scoop of ice cream, the owner of the soon-to-open Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins eatery has good news for you.

Construction of the new building in the Oak Creek Shopping Center is moving quickly and the store will be open soon, a company representative said.

“We’re looking at the last week in February,” Marketing Manager Erin Sheerin said. “We should start the hiring process pretty soon.”

The businesses should create about 25 jobs combined, Sheerin said, including assistant managers, doughnut bakers, cake decorators and crew members. The building will feature indoor and outdoor seating as well as drive-thru service.

“This is our 14th combo location with both Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin Robbins,” Sheerin said. “Both stores will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., and you can order off either menu. I’m amazed at how many people order milkshakes at five in the morning.”

Niceville will be the 48th Dunkin’ Donuts owned by franchisee Vic Patel, who recently made headlines by partnering with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees to develop 69 new Dunkin’ Donuts stores across Louisiana over the next few years.

Sheerin said Patel is eager to get involved in the community.

He wants to help with high school sports sponsorships and other groups like Little League teams,

Sheerin said. “We’re always doing fundraisers for different organizations.”

The company plans to host a grand opening celebration in early March featuring free coffee giveaways, 31-cent ice cream scoops and other promotions.

“We want to give our crew a chance to get settled in before we have the grand opening,” Sheerin said. “We’re really looking forward to celebrating.”
