PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Purple Square Management pledged to support the campaign ‘Coffee for a Cause’ to benefit nonprofit Hope Villages of America and donated more than $7,500. This donation will directly impact those who are in need in Tampa Bay.

On Tuesday, May 31, Purple Square Management revealed the final total from its campaign. A check for $7,527 was presented to Hope Villages of America President and CEO Kirk Ray Smith and Executive Vice President of Community Affairs and Assistant to the President, Jonita Lewis.

“Every dollar makes a difference and supports those in need right here in our own backyard,” commented Smith. “Now, more than ever, as we see inflation, gas prices, and even food prices soar, people need supportive services.”

The donation stems from ‘Coffee for a Cause’ where members of the community could make a donation at Bay Area Dunkin’ franchises from May 17 to 19. On May 18, Dunkin’ donated an additional $1 when customers purchased a dozen donuts, a box of Joe, K-cup Packs, coffee by the pound, or ice cream cake.

“We were honored to partner with Hope Villages of America for our in-store Dunkin’ Fundraiser in May,” said Erin Sheerin, Director of Communications & Culture at Purple Square Management Co. “We believe it is our responsibility to give back to the local community and this organization helps do that in so many ways. We appreciate our team for their efforts, as well as the community that donated to the cause.”

Hope Villages of America recently expanded services to the greater Tampa Bay region and aims to raise funds with additional community partners. HVA helps those who are food insecure, in need of housing or facing homelessness, domestic violence victims, and those experiencing all forms of abuse, from elder abuse to child bullying. They are one of the few multidimensional organizations able to address this wide range of socioeconomic issues and are seeing an increasing need to help those who are suffering.

The lives HVA touches include more than 300 individuals in emergency shelters, 70,000 food-insecure individuals, and thousands of people through the safe house and outreach centers.

“This generous donation will significantly enhance our ability to reach more individuals and families across Tampa Bay,” added Smith.
