Drew Brees, Joy in Childhood foundations to donate $40K Second Harvest Food Bank
New Orleans, Louisiana — Drew Brees will be on hand in New Orleans Monday to present a $40,000 donation from two foundations to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana.
The donation is a combined effort from the Brees Dream Foundation and the Dunkin’ Donuts Joy in Childhood Foundation, according to a press release from a firm representing the two foundations. Both foundations are donating $20,000.
Brees will present the check with New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Dunkin’ Brands Chairman and CEO Nigel Travis, the press release says.
In January, Brees, in partnership with existing Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee Vik Patel, signed an agreement to develop multiple new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Monroe and Alexandria over the coming years. The partnership co-owns five existing Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Louisiana with its first new location planned to open this summer.
