Dunkin’ Donuts supports Project Hope in Dothan

Dothan, Alabama — Dunkin’ Donuts of Dothan and the Florida Panhandle will host an all-day fundraiser to benefit PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), a year-round golf program for all military veterans, designed to enhance their rehabilitation and assimilation back into society.

On Wednesday, April 26, $1 from each dozen donuts, pound of coffee, box of K-Cup pods, Box O’Joe and Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake sold will be donated to PGA HOPE. Donations to PGA HOPE will also be accepted at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Dothan and the Florida Panhandle beginning April 25 through April 27.

Led by local PGA professionals, PGA HOPE is a golf program that provides veterans with free instruction designed to enhance the rehabilitation process. The program includes a working partnership with physical therapists, introduction of the participant to the sport of golf, golf instruction, playing opportunities and social events – using golf as an activity to assist veterans with their progress in rehab along with helping them to assimilate and mainstream with their families, into communities and into life. Programs take place in local markets nationally and are fully funded for military and their families’ participation. Currently there are 68 programs in 38 states with over 3,500 veterans impacted.

All donations from the Dunkin’ Donuts fundraiser will support the local Dothan chapter, Project HOPE Wiregrass, based at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Highland Oaks.

I learned about PGA HOPE through one of our daily guests who helped start the program in Dothan and his words immediately resonated with me,

said Vik Patel, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee and CEO of Purple Square Management Company, in a press release. “PGA HOPE combines two things that I am personally passionate about – golf and supporting our military veterans – and I am honored to be able to give back to those who risk their lives to protect our country.”
