Destin, Florida — An 8,300-square-foot plaza is nearing completion at 1018 U.S. Highway 98 East in Destin, with three businesses on the way and room for a fourth.
The complex will house a Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin-Robbins combination store and an American Family Care urgent care center. An additional 1,700 square feet is still up for lease.
“We expect to have the spaces completed by mid-November,” said Chad Hirn, principal broker for the Cress Group, which is developing the property in partnership with Net Lease Alliance.
“I would think that the tenants would be open shortly thereafter.”
Erin Sheerin, marketing manager for Dunkin’ Donuts, confirmed that the store would be open the first week of December.
“It will be a combo location with Baskin-Robbins,” Sheerin said. “It will be the first in the area.” She added that there is one currently in Panama City. Dunkin’ Donuts will be new to the area, but there are several franchise locations from Panama City to Pensacola. Sheerin said she expected a second Dunkin’ Donuts to open in Destin in the future.
“We’ve done a lot of development in PCB (Panama City Beach) and we’re slowly making our way to the rest of the Panhandle,” she said.
A lot of people love Dunkin’ Donuts, and if they don’t yet, they’ll grow to love it as we open more locations,
Sheerin said the location in Destin will add between 25 and 30 jobs, including a full-time cake decorator for Baskin-Robbins. She said they have not started hiring yet, but plan to soon.
