New restaurant to positively impact Deville Street in the Market Common

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – An upscale restaurant and bar is coming to the Market Common in November.

The Brass Tap fancies itself a craft beer bar offering 70 different craft beers on tap, full food menu, liquor, wine and entertainment, according to the Myrtle Beach location’s Facebook page. The menu is already posted to the Facebook page.

Businesses in the Market Common are thrilled about the new restaurant because it will bring much-needed foot traffic to Deville Street, which currently has a handful of empty storefronts.

“We need to have up and coming, trendy places in Market Common,” says Larry Cauble, owner of Crepe Creation. “Because we want to hit all the demographics that live in Myrtle Beach and visit Myrtle Beach.”

Pedego Electric Bikes of Myrtle Beach will be the restaurant’s neighbor. The owner of the bike shop, Aaron Maynard, hopes another unique restaurant will help visitors slow down instead of  just booking it to the parking garage or the movie theater.

“People are pretty focused,” says Maynard. “They’ve got a movie starting in a few minutes, so they need to get to that. I think a new restaurant here will provide just a little bit more freedom and time for folks to explore a little bit.”

The Brass Tap is a franchise. One of the co-owners says the owners picked the Market Common for the new restaurant’s location because there are so many successful food and dining options already established there. The co-owner says this new restaurant will contribute to foodies’ options, because the year-round customer base and a strong, upscale vibe fits what the Brass Tap is all about.
